My opinions about TPR

In my opinion, if you can use well this in the classroom, your students may learn more, may be more satisfied with their learning process and you may have a better chance to teach second language to them. Because they are already bored and confused with traditional learning methods.

On the other hand, it is clear that when they act the actions it makes them motivate and builds confidence.

Multiple Intelligences

There are some different intelligences for everbody. We are all different persons and we are learning different ways from each other. It is clear that we can not talk about one type of learning style. As a result, when you teach to your class you should reach every children in order to ensure their learning. The reason why you should know as a teacher the idea of multiple intelligences.


We can refer 8 different kind of intelligence.

1) Verbal-Linguistic: they are good at learn through reading or writing. Spelling, grammar and vocabulary.


2)Logical- Mahematical: their problem solving skills and ability of analysing date are very develeoped. They are good at numbers, years, amounts. In addition, it is possible to say that they may interested in scientific reasons.


3) Visual- Spatial: They use tehir images when they learn mostly. If you try to do your best for be able to teach them you should benefit from illustrations, images, showing words and visual materials.


4)Bodily- Kinestetic: The best way to learn for them is doing, touching, acting. In my opinion, the method of Tpr is useful them best.


5)Musical- Rythmic: You can use some materials such as songs, rhymes, rythms, singing, and writing or playing mucical for these children.


6)Interpersonal: the power of empathy, be able to understand theirself and others, feelings are very important for them. role playing, discussing could be some of ways to teach them.


7)Intrapersonal: they may not related outside everytime. They can learn when they're working alone beside this, they are reflecting about norms and values.


8)Naturalistic: Outside activities and field trips are good ways for this intelligence.

The idea of TPR!

TPR is a language teaching method that hardly used in 2nd language. This theory based on the way how children learn their first language and aim of TPR is be able to use childrens natural abilities when they learn a second language.

As you know after they were born, children learn their first language through experiences with the world around them. They are touching, seeing images and hearing sounds. Because of this reality every new word attached to a physical action in TPR method. In addition, due to the fact that we try to ensure to thinking children in the target language, translation is never used in TPR.
